A10 heads are made for the A10 device — Dr. Pen builds several cartridge systems and matches each one to particular models — so these will not seat on another model's pen, and another line's heads will not seat on yours.

The five heads, and where each one lands

Depth comes from the pen: the A10 depth dial runs from 0.25 mm to 2.5 mm, so the same head can be run shallow on the face and deeper on the body. What the head decides is how much skin one pass covers.

Head Best for Typical depth
12-pin Working to a line rather than a region — a crease, a narrow strip, a small zone you can follow closely 0.25–1.0 mm
24-pin The middle of this range and the head most owners come back for — whole-face passes at facial depth 0.25–1.0 mm
36-pin Neck, jawline, décolletage and larger areas where you would rather take fewer passes per zone 0.5–1.5 mm
42-pin The widest head in this line — the fastest way across a large area 0.5–1.5 mm
Round Nano No-needle surface work — pressing a serum in, under-eye, and the light finish at the end of a session ≤ 0.25 mm — no needles

Safe depth by concern is in our needle depth guide — at home, keep facial depth at or below 1.0 mm; above 1.5 mm is for trained practitioners.

Cartridge Selection Guide

  • 12-pin — the fine end of the range. More passes, more control.
  • 24-pin — the workhorse. Ordering one size to start with, this is it.
  • 36 and 42-pin — the same job on a larger area, in fewer passes.

What a sealed A10 pack looks like

  • One sterile blister per head, with manufacturing and expiry dates printed on it.
  • Single use. A head is spent when the session ends — a reused one drags rather than cutting clean channels, see can you reuse Dr. Pen cartridges?
  • A listing you can verify. We are an authorised Dr. Pen retailer and stock arrives through the official supply chain — how to verify your Dr. Pen.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

Which A10 head will I end up reordering most?

The 24-pin, by a wide margin. It sits in the middle of a five-head range, so it covers a full face at facial depth without taking as long as the 12-pin, and it is the size most people settle on after their first order. Keep a 12-pin for detail and a Round Nano for the finish, and the 24-pin does the rest.

My routine is built on an 18-pin — will an A10 work for me?

Yes, with one substitution. An 18-pin is the only density this line does not carry, and the 24-pin covers what you were using it for — whole-face passes at facial depth. Everything else lines up: 12-pin for detail, 36 and 42-pin for larger areas, Round Nano for the surface. If it was a 9-pin you were after rather than an 18, the 12-pin is the smallest needling head made for an A10.

Does another Dr. Pen model take A10 cartridges?

No. Dr. Pen runs several cartridge systems and matches each one to particular models, so an A10 head is an A10 head. Fitting a head from another line is how mounts get damaged and how a session ends up uneven, and it is also the most common reason a pack gets returned to us unopened. If you own a second Dr. Pen pen as well, check the family name on the cartridge box rather than the shape of the pen.

Does corded or cordless use change the cartridge I need?

No. The A10 takes the same head whether it is running from the adapter and cord or from its rechargeable battery — there is one cartridge mount and the power source does not reach it. Pick the power option that suits the session and order the same heads either way.

What is Round Nano for on an A10?

It is the no-needle head in this range. Instead of needles it carries a rounded tip surface, so it is the one you use to press a serum into the skin and to work the areas a needling head is too much for — under the eye, around the mouth, or the light finish after a full session. It is the head to keep in the drawer for the days between deeper sessions.

Is the 12-pin the right head for scalp passes on an A10?

Yes — it is the tightest head in this range and the one our A10 scalp kits are built around, because hairline work means working in narrow bands between sections rather than covering a broad area. Keep the 36 and 42-pin for the wider passes further back, and set the depth shallow on the scalp. A fresh head per session applies on the scalp just as it does on the face.
